STUDENT Council
SJS student council overview
The SJS Student Council, composed of driven 7th and 8th graders with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and at least a G in Conduct and Effort, shapes the school year’s rhythm. Following elections in late August or early September, they orchestrate the installation Mass the following Wednesday, marking the start of their impactful leadership.
Through weekly post-school meetings, they manage diverse responsibilities like leading assembly prayers, overseeing “The Jungle” student store, organizing biannual Spirit Weeks, and hosting Junior High Dances. Beyond festivities, they champion causes, from childhood cancer awareness to holiday food drives, and culminate the year with a celebratory gym sleepover, a testament to their dedicated service.
